Well, after working for almost 15 months, I am finally getting a brief vacation. And to celebrate this moment of solitude, my second Canon Eos 3 arrived just in time for the cold rainy weather.
I am not going to let the weather get me down and no I am not going to limit my shooting to indoors.
Today I went back out to Piedmont park looking for my friend the Great Blue Heron. I spotted him across the pond right away. He was in a different spot than normal and I assume it was because of the cold wind that was kicking up.
The photos from this location will definetly look different. I borrowed a friends 70-200mm 2.8 L lens and ended up putting a 2x converter on it. I was switching cameras and had 400 ISO and 800 ISO fuji film respectively.
The highlight of the day, right before the rain, was my lowepro computrekker AW falling into the water. The bag was slighly open since I had just taken the 2x converter out.
I was frozen to the ground as I watched the bag tumble down the hill and into the water. Naturally, the Heron took that opportunity to get lost. He didn't want to be around when I started raising a fuss.
Thankfully, the AW - All Weather material kept the majority of my contents dry. However, the bag was partially open and some water did seep in. No camera equipment was left in the bag. How about that for a great use of a bag.
Anyway. I plan on breaking my roll of 1600 ISO tonight and take some photos on the MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority).
I won't be posting photos from my vacation until this weekend, but I will add some taken from previous months that haven't been seen by most.
